Abergavenny Castle & Museum

The museum used to be a 19th Century hunting lodge within the walls of the castle. Exhibits and exhibitions include lots of items of historical interest from the surrounding area.

Further Information 

Most of the museum is accessible, but there are flights of steps between some levels. There are gravel paths around the grounds, mostly on one level though there are some steep slopes. The Castle grounds are open from 8am to dusk. Admission is free.

How to get there: The Castle is close to the Castle Street car park, which is signposted from the roundabout on the A4143 in Abergavenny.

Parking: There is a gravel car park in the castle grounds with additional car parks close by.

Toilets: There are toilets located between two sets of steps in the museum, but further toilets can be found nearby in the Castle Street car park. Ask a member of staff for assistance.
