Hill Cottage is a Welsh longhouse dating from 17th century with loads of traditional character, country chic and mod. cons.
Beams, flagstones, wood burner, roses around the door, views across to Pen-y-Fan, surrounded by nature and animals, where you can experience life on a traditional Welsh organic hill farm with over 200 acres to explore. Here spring water flows from the taps, you can collect eggs for supper, or simply lay back and gaze as the stars twinkle above.
 
We offer an idyllic and peaceful get-away from the stress, hustle and bustle of everyday modern living. Being in the Western side of the Park we are able to offer natural, wild beauty by day and pristine sky at night.  You will find plenty of walking routes directly onto the Black Mountain and Fforest Fawr Geopark , quite literally, from your doorstep. On rainy afternoons, you’ll be glad of the Sky FreeSat TV and DVD player, mini hifi, a library of books and a great selection of games and puzzles for children and adults alike.
 
Learn about organic farm life, see sheep, pigs, cattle, hens, Welsh mountain ponies, and wildlife outside your door. Fresh eggs, organic pork, beef, lamb are available during your stay, while shops and pubs are a short drive away (5 miles).
 
Slate tiled entrance hall, with oak chest and plenty of room for muddy boots, leads to open flagstone kitchen, dining room with snug or cwtch at one end which has amazing views across to the Beacons.  Here you can watch wildfowl visit the neighbouring pools and maybe deer coming out of the trees in the distance. Modern fitted kitchen with full sized electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. A door takes you into the barn where you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer and full size snooker table.
 
Along the hall  is a large wet-room with disabled toilet.  The hall way leads to the spacious lounge with comfy sofas, chairs, large inglenook fireplace wood burner  (logs provided)    and with a mix of traditional furniture this room oozes charm.  Perfect for unwinding after a busy day exploring. From the lounge you can enter the garden room which has double doors that let in the sunshine. This is a room to hide away with your book and glass of wine,  you could write that novel  or even play with some of the traditional games supplied.
 
Upstairs are three bedrooms: one double, one twin  and a single with an additional pull out bed, all are furnished in a traditional style with modern touches. There is also a family shower room.
 
Outside there is a sheltered and enclosed garden with garden furniture and a BBQ. Organic farmland surrounds the property with streams, wildlife pools and woodland nearby, and plenty of opportunity to spot red kits, buzzards, deer and the neighbouring livestock and Welsh ponies.
 
The walls are decorated with a range of attractive drawings, paintings and prints all helping to make this a real home from home. Dogs & cats are welcome but should be kept under control at all times.  Horses and ponies are also welcome, by arrangement. Free EV charging during your stay.
