Trapp Fishery Caravan & Camping

Our newly opened lakeside self catering cottage is now available for booking.
The Cottage
The new modern but traditionally built Welsh Cottage, is only 2 metres from the lake margins, with views across the water from the kitchen, lounge and bedroom windows. The day room rear window overlooks woodland and farm fields, which often contain Welsh Mountain ponies.
The cottage can comfortably sleep 3  adults (2 bedrooms) with a sofa bed in the lounge for a 4th person.
The bird life around the unspoiled woodland is absolutely amazing, from tree creepers and black spotted woodpecker to the local residing tiny king fishers.
Green credentials
The cottage is powered completely by solar energy,  directly from the solar panels on the roof. the electricity is then stored in huge deep cell batteries, which run an inverter, to provide an AC voltage.
Heating and water is supplied with an LPG combi boiler – very efficient and only active on demand, which reduces our carbon footprint.. ( When the solar is low, we do have to rely on a standby generator)
The cottage has a kitchen, diner/ day room with a separate lounge next to the  shower room.
Disabled toilet and shower room facility
This is a facility, with a large  glass walled hot Eco shower all nicely tiled; a toilet with grab rails and 2 different level hand wash basins. Everything has been adapted for use, with a wheelchair in mind.
Location and facilities
For fisherman, the location is ideal, with free fishing and the ability to fish off the front door step; what more can an angler ask for?
For walkers the allure is just as great, with the cottage in the shadow of Carreg Cennen Castle. The cottage is situated on footpath 48, which runs both to the Castle and it’s famous circular walk. This then leads onto the renowned, World famous “Beacons Way” long distance footpath.
This starts in Abergavenny and ends only a short distance from the cottage and campsite.
