Talgarth Mill is a fully restored and working 18th Century water mill, completely run by local volunteers. We are open every week from Wednesday to Saturday.
 
Our knowledgeable and friendly guides and millers will show you around and explain its workings, history and the story behind its restoration which was featured on the BBC programme ‘Village SOS‘. We mill wholegrain flour four days a week and children are given the opportunity to winnow the grain and mill a little of their own flour with a small hand mill!
 
Our wide range of award-winning flour includes organic wholemeal, plain wholemeal, spelt, rye, as well as our wonderful ‘ACB’ wheat which is grown locally… especially for us! The flour can be purchased direct from us here at Talgarth Mill. 100% of the purchase price goes direct to the Mill, helping to pay for our upkeep.
 
The Mill is open for tours from 10am to 3pm (donations gratefully received).
 
On site we have Cafe at the Mill  , with picture windows overlooking the river. Run by local people, the café offers amazing lunches and delicious homemade cakes as well as a wide range of tea and coffee and is open from 10am to 4pm.
 
If you’re looking for bread and baked goods, then look no further than Pobl, our in-house bakery.
Open from 10am to 2pm, make sure you arrive as early as you can as the bakery sells out nearly every day. The cinnamon buns and sourdough bread are simply to die for!
 
Last but by all means not least is our wonderful craft shop, located on the ground floor of the Mill. This is the place to come to if you’re looking for imaginative gifts ~ all created by local artists and artisans. There really is something to suit all pockets. Open from 10am to 3pm it is a wonderfully rewarding place to browse while chatting to the Mill staff, whether rain or shine!
