The Star Bunkhouse (Silver award – Hostel or Bunkhouse of the Year, The Great Outdoors Awards 2018) in the village of Bwlch is an ideal base camp for exploring the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park.
You can expect a warm and comfortable stay in our family run, award-winning bunkhouse. We have spacious bedrooms (including an en-suite Family Room), a homely lounge with a wood burning stove, books & games, fully-equipped self-catering kitchen, large dining tables, a cosy snug with extra seating, plenty of hot showers, drying room with washing machine, outside seating and BBQ area, and car park.
We can sleep up to 20 people in bunkbeds spread over 6 bedrooms. We offer private bedrooms suitable for individuals, couples & small groups, or exclusive use for larger groups. We are also dog friendly by arrangement. As qualified Mountain Leaders, we can also provide guided walks for our guests by request.
The bunkhouse is situated alongside The Beacons Way long-distance footpath in the gap (‘bwlch’) between the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons mountain range (which includes Pen Y Fan). We are across the road from the New Inn (Brecknockshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2019) that is well known for its real ales, great food and friendly atmosphere (booking advised).
We look forward to meeting you soon!
