Eco-friendly cottage where you can experience life on a traditional Welsh organic hill farm with over 200 acres to explore. Here spring water flows from the taps, you can collect eggs for supper, melt marshmallows over the campfire or simply lay back and gaze as the stars twinkle above.
We offer an idyllic and peaceful get-away from the stress, hustle and bustle of everyday modern living. Being in the Western side of the Park we are able to offer natural, wild beauty by day and pristine sky at night. you will find plenty of walking routes directly onto the Black Mountain and Fforest Fawr Geopark from your doorstep. On rainy afternoons, you’ll be glad of the Sky FreeSat TV and DVD player, mini hifi, a library of books and a great selection of games and puzzles for children.
Learn about farm life and eco-living in comfort, see sheep, pigs, cattle, hens, Welsh mountain ponies, and wildlife on the farm. Fresh eggs, organic pork, beef, lamb are available during your stay, while shops and pubs are a short drive away (5 miles).
Bryniau Pell is an airy open plan cottage having been converted from a traditional threshing barn. There is a welcoming country-style cottage where the bright and airy open-plan living space features home-grown oak floors throughout and beautiful Welsh pine furniture. The well-equipped kitchen has an oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine. Enjoy family mealtimes at the generous breakfast bar where you can make plans for a new day of adventures. Sink into comfortable chairs around the warming wood burner (logs provided) and soak up the panoramic views towards the Brecon Beacons. There is a convenient WC on the ground floor and separate utility/entrance room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Upstairs , you’ll find the bedrooms (double, twin, and nursery) are all furnished in Welsh pine. They have soft cotton bed linen and fluffy duvets and pillows made from recycled plastic bottles. The nursery has both cot and cot bed with attractive bedding, has a starry blackout blind and double lined curtains for those long summer days. There is a nightlight on the landing and sockets in the nursery have protective covers. The family bathroom provides a bath with shower over, hand basin and WC.
Relax in the private enclosed gardens where you can spend hours watching birds soaring above and the mountains beyond. Adjacent to the garden is a park/ outdoor play area and the path to our campfire and den building area.
Stargazing and bird watching equipment are available. Ample car parking is available. You may also pre-order scrumptious organic hampers or purchase home produced organic food during your stay.
Children are very welcome with stair gate, fireguard and high chair provided. Dogs & cats are welcome but should be kept under control at all times. Horses and ponies are also welcome by arrangement. Free EV charging during your stay.
