Basel Cottage is located only 2 miles from the lovely Market Town of Llandovery in Carmarthenshire. This outstanding holiday cottage is ideally placed to explore Mid and South West Wales. Basel Cottage Holidays is ideal for families, couples and single travellers and is dog friendly and set in its’ own 17 acres of glorious Welsh Countryside.
Outside Space:
Firstly, a few steps from the front door there is an extensive Decked Terrace with outdoor furniture This area provides a wonderful setting for alfresco dining with lovely views overlooking the Afon Bran, a tributary of the River Towy. Secondly, there is an Enclosed Garden, perfect and safe for both children and your four-legged friends to explore. Thirdly, there is a gorgeous Stone and Slate Terrace with Seating and a Fire-Pit which is perfect for enjoying our magnificent dark skies. In addition, there are acres of enclosed fields and a wonderful private Enclosed Woodland with mowed paths and bench seating sited throughout.
Basel Cottage is a great Dog Friendly self-catering holiday cottage that welcomes up to two dogs free of charge. (Dog sitting available by prior arrangement). Basel Cottage offers families and couples alike, the opportunity to relax in a truly peaceful and tranquil location. Moreover, with walks straight from the door and the Crychan Forest and the Brecon Beacons National Park close by, this is both a ‘Walkers and Cyclists Paradise’!
Activities On Site:
There is a lovely rustic Cabin in the Woods for guests to enjoy and for the more energetic among you, why not try your hand on the fun ‘Agricultural’ 3 Hole Pitch and Putt Golf Course?
Beginners Archery Lessons and Target Air Rifle Shooting are also available to book on-site facilitated by Jonah, one of the owners, who is fully insured and a qualified Archery GB Instructor and British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) Air Rifle Instructor.
There is also a Games Room on site which houses a full size Table Tennis Table, Dart Board, 5 ft Pool Table, Table Football and a full size freestanding Basket Ball Hoop.
In the Summer months, guests also have the opportunity to play Croquet within the grounds (subject to weather conditions).
Basel Cottage offers free Superfast Broadband and there is also an EV Charging Point available (additional charges apply).
Internal Space:
Sleeps 4 in 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms.
The Kitchen has wooden fitted units, an electric oven and ceramic hob. There is a fridge and a freezer, microwave, dishwasher and dining table and chairs.
A separate spacious Utility Room is established with a washing machine and large sink. This leads to a separate downstairs toilet and hand basin.
The spacious Living Room is furnished with two comfortable leather sofas and an armchair. Secondly, there is a fabulous Stone Inglenook Fireplace with a slate hearth and evidence of the old oven. A lovely and a very efficient log Wood Burning Stove now sits in pride of place.
Thirdly, there is also a fabulous, large, relaxing, cushioned Window Seat to make the most of the glorious views across and up the valley. A TV with Free-Sat, a Firestick and a DVD are also available.
Firstly, for Bird Watching Fans, there are Binoculars in Basel Cottage. Secondly, for Stargazers, a full size Telescope can be made available.
Up a flight of easy wooden stairs to two bedrooms:
The Master Bedroom 1: A lovely spacious room with a Super King Sized Bed – dual aspect windows. Wonderful views across the terraces, wooded valley and over the garden towards the owner’s private woods. There is an En-Suite Shower Room with a large walk-in shower, hand basin, shaver point and toilet.
Bedroom 2: A spacious room with Twin Beds – one with a firm mattress and the other one with a softer mattress. There is a full size “Z” bed available if a 5th bed is required as well as a full-size Cot.
Family Bathroom: A Full Size Bath with Shower attachment, toilet and hand basin.
