Aberyscir Coach House is a tranquil one bedroom self catering holiday cottage in the Brecon Beacons National Park with panoramic views of Pen-Y-Fan. Our Dark Skies offers amazing stargazing on clear nights. We are only 15 minutes from the visitor centre where Dark Skies Wales offers stargazing experiences.
This 4 Star self catering holiday cottage dates from the 19th century when it served as the coach house and stables for the vicar of Aberyscir who lived at the Rectory.
Situated on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park, it is the ideal base to explore this exciting and dramatic landscape. Aberyscir is a small hamlet on the river Yscir, a tributary of the river Usk, a few miles to the west of Brecon.
Our chickens provide you with free range eggs whilst native breed sheep graze our surrounding fields during the summer months. From the cottage there are lovely walks straight up onto Aberyscir Common and for miles beyond.
Brecon is the nearest town with shops, restaurants and in August The Brecon Jazz Festival whilst the famous book and literary festival town of Hay on Wye is just 17 miles away.
The Upper Usk Valley has an abundance of things to do. There are golf courses at Cradoc and Brecon; Brecon has both a leisure centre and theatre; there is fishing on both the Yscir, Usk and Wye rivers and of course some of the best walking and riding anywhere.
