New Events Van Brings the Park to People

The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority has recently had delivery of a new electric events and information van which will be seen out and about in the National Park during the coming year. With its distinct graphics, the van will provide an opportunity for staff to share what the Authority does and its aims for the future.

The Authority is currently prioritising its work, in co-operation with other organisations, looking at tackling issues around climate change, biodiversity, river health as well as the impact of visitor numbers in the Park.  This e-van will help inform people of the work they are undertaking and where residents and visitors can help affect positive change.

The Peugeot eExpert van has had a bespoke conversion by South Wales Campers in Pontardawe. The conversion has been as environmentally sustainable as possible and it is fitted with solar panels that charge a battery for all the internal lights and power. Visitors will be welcomed to sit inside if the weather is inclement or shelter under an awning to chat to staff. The van has been wrapped with striking images from across the park which was done by Harris Signs in Swansea.

‘It is very important at this time that we are more visible out in the National Park,’ said Eleanor Greenwood, Communications Officer for the Brecon Beacons National Park, ‘we need to get the message out about what we are working towards and how people can help.’
