How to manually log a cache location
on to a Garmin GPS unit
- Power on
- Use page button and press 4 times to reach ‘Menu’ page
- Press enter button to choose ‘Mark’ which takes you to the Mark Waypoint screen
- Press up button twice to scroll up to the musical note symbol on the screen and press enter
- Press the down button and enter to choose the picture symbol you want to use to identify the cache
- Scroll down to the number below and press enter and then enter again and begin the process of giving the cache a name or a number of your choice e.g. for Views All Round the title I’ve given it is VIEWSA
- Press enter at the end of the whole process to take you back to the Mark Waypoint screen
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and press enter to take you to the Edit Location screen where you can edit the grid reference
- Press enter and go through a similar process as for giving the cache / waypoint a name or number and press enter again when finished which will take you back to the Mark Waypoint screen
- Scroll up to OK? and press enter which takes you back to the Menu screen
- Scroll down to Waypoints and press enter
- Scroll down to U-Z to find VIEWSA and press enter
- Choose VIEWSA and press enter which takes you to the Review Waypoint screen
- Choose GOTO and press enter and you’re ready to set off to find the cache!
