Use the unique tracking ID code stamped on the coin and go to the ukgeocachers website. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to ‘Activate your coin here’ and select 'Brecon Beacon geocoin' from the drop down menu. Enter a valid email address and the coin’s ID code and click submit.

A unique activation code is then automatically sent to the email address you supplied - a security measure to stop people trying to randomly guess tracking codes.

Go to the about section and register for a free account.

Once set up, log in and go to track and look for ‘Activate Trackable Item’. Enter the coin’s unique tracking ID code and click on ‘Activate’.

A new web page will be displayed. Enter the activation code received by email and click on ‘Activate my Trackable Item’.

The geocoin will be assigned a third code called the ‘Trackable Item number’. Here you can enter a name for the coin, its mission and description. Click on ‘Edit Trackable Item’s Details’ to save this information.

Next select the ‘Location Activated’ using the drop down menu to pick a country and a second drop down menu to choose the region, then click on ‘Complete Activation’ and click on the link provided to review the coin’s very own web page.
