The Old Coach Road from Storey Arms

This is a linear route with no barriers that forms part of the Taff Trail.

The route is a mainly compacted stone track and narrow tarmac lanes leading down to the village of Libanus. There are three shallow culverts (ditches) and several small humps to cross. There are no short cuts with this route. A bus service runs from Brecon to Merthyr Tydfil and stops in Libanus and at Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre.

How to get there: Storey Arms is on the A470 between Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon.

Nearest town or village: Libanus or Merthyr Tydfil.

OS Grid Reference: OS Explorer map OL12 or Landranger map 160 SN 983 203 (Storey Arms) and SO 995 259 (Libanus).

Distance: Up to 7.5km.

Facilities: There are no facilities on or close to this route.

Parking: Parking is in lay-bys opposite the Storey Arms, at the Pont-ar-daf car park or in Libanus.

Toilets: There are toilets, including disabled access toilets, at the Pont-ar-daf car park 300 metres south of the Storey Arms along the A470.
