The Brand Brecon toolkit
The toolkit includes the Brecon Audience Map, along with guidance on Brecon’s 'personality' , values and the tone of voice which should be used to help tell stories and convey messages about the area.
In 2011 the Park Authority, with the support of a number of local businesses, residents, community groups and other organisations, including Brecon Chamber of Trade, the Brecon Town Council, Brecon Beacons Tourism, Powys County Council and the Brecon and Radnor Express, embarked on a branding project for the town of Brecon.
The branding project is being pursued as part of the National Park Authority’s Sustainable Tourism Action Plan for Brecon to develop the town as a sustainable tourism destination.
Under the guidance of Hidden Britain a community-focused, not-for-profit organisation with rural tourism expertise who were contracted by Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, the community were encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas which were then incorporated into the toolkit below.
The toolkit comes in two parts which you can download here
Brand Brecon Summary Report - this is a pdf file
Brand Brecon's Audience Map Tool - this is an Excel Spreadsheet.
The toolkit enables every relevant community member to create compelling marketing and communications targeted to meet the needs of their specific audiences. Every piece of communication created draws from the same core brand values which over time leads to thousands of messages all consistently talking about Brecon and raising the town’s awareness in a positive and controlled way.
