Countryside management within the Brecon Beacons can offer interesting and challenging practical work parties for Volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life. These are hands on days working with likeminded people often repairing aspects of our park or enhancing the environment to make its use safer or more accommodating.
The Warden Service of the National Park Authority operate weekly work parties throughout the year and these are supervised by Wardens. Volunteers will meet the Warden at a pre-arranged venue and share transport to the work site. Typically a group will have a minimum size of 4 volunteers and a maximum of 12 volunteers. Larger groups might well be supervised by two Wardens. Additional work parties for private groups can also be arranged. This type of work is recognised as suitable service fulfilment by those working towards Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme awards.
