Area Advisory Forums.

There are two Area Advisory Forums – East and West, comprising 8 National Park Authority members, and up to 20 other members to include a balanced representation of recreational access users, landowners, community councils and statutory organisations as well as partner organisations as appropriate.  Only one representative per organisation sits on each forum.

The forums meet twice a year, usually in February and October.

The three forums:

  •  Provide advice and guidance to the Authority on issues relating to sustainable development, conservation and recreation and social land management in order that the Authority can fulfil its statutory functions and duties.
  • Enable the Authority through its policies to better engage with communities and interested bodies across the National Park.
  • Advise the Authority on:

    -  the National Park Management Plan;

    -  the Annual Review of the Area Action Plans;

    -  such other matters as may be referred to the Forum by the  Authority.

These are not public meetings but if you have something you wish to raise please contact your local community councillor.
