When were we designated? Brecon Beacons National Park was designated in 1957. Which means that last year we celebrated our 50th Anniversary.

How do we see the future of the National Park? We have a clear vision for the National Park for the next 20 years. This sets the scene for all our strategic documents.
Who does the work? The Park is administered by a special National Park Authority made up of 24 members, over 130 staff and our volunteers.
Our Administrative Make up - Our administrative area covers parts of 9 of Unitary Authorities. We are the planning authority, while the Unitary Authorities retain responsibility for all other local government services within their areas of the park. Download map of Local Authority boundaries
