From black to green...
Black to Green is an innovative project to conserve, and revegetate an eroding upland mire of some 15Ha, using mainly locally generated gorse mulch which contains a seedbank of acid grassland species. The initial pilot project has proved to be a sucessful way of conserving and enhancing the character and qualities of this remote upland landscape. It is also re-establishing Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) species on a previously severely degraded habitat.
