I began my job as Assistant Area Warden in April 2007 and feel very privileged to be working in such a beautiful area of Wales with such a great and diverse team of people. I am originally from Cardiff, and can remember being brought to the Brecon Beacons as a child by my parents and being wowed by the beauty of the mountains. I live in Abergavenny with my dogs, Jack and Mali and horse Apollo, and enjoy being in the countryside either on foot or horseback. My interests include horseriding, walking, natural history, gardening, rugby (Wales & Ospreys - c'mon boys!) and socialising with friends.
My Favourite Walk
There’s so many great walks within the park with spectacular views, but one that I really enjoy is the circular walk from Talybont, on a clear day the views are to die for!
Start & Finish at Blaen-y-Glyn forestry car park in the top end of the Talybont Valley
Distance 12.7km
Ascent 534m
The walk climbs onto the plateau of the Eastern Beacons for an escarpment walk to Fan y Big (719m) before returning via the old drovers road.
