The Authority has an opportunity at the National Park Visitor Centre Tearooms for an Assistant Cook to help provide a varied and nutritous menu of foods for the visitor and organised functions.
The individual will have experience in the catering sector, in particular the preparation and handling of food equipment. A willingness to work alternate weekends.

Did you know that you can apply to be a Welsh Assembly Government appointed member of the National Park Authority? You will need to have experience in one or more areas, such as tourism, conservation, land management, planning or community. You will also need to show commitment to National Park purposes.
What is a National Park Authority member?
There are 24 National Park members who set the policy and make decisions on the work of the Park.16 are appointed by the constituent local authorities and 8 by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Will I get paid?
As a member, you would receive an attendance allowance of £52.92 per day, plus travel and subsistence expenses. Childcare and dependants allowances could also be claimed.
What time will I need to commit?
Members are asked to spend a minimum of 4 days per month on Park business, but there are opportunities to get much more involved, and there is a full induction and development programme to help you.

How do I apply?
The Welsh Assembly Government will be advertising for two new members in April, they advertise the vacancies on their website (http://wales.gov.uk/about/recruitment/publicapps/currentvacs/ ) and in the Western Mail and the local press.
This is your chance to be involved in managing the Brecon Beacons National Park. You will be interviewed by a panel of WAG, National Park and independent representatives, and if successful, will be appointed by the Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing, for an initial period of up to four years.
