Background Documents
The LDP has to be supported by a number of background documents that provide an evidence base for the plan. These include:
A set of 5 issues papers which establish the Policy Context underpinning specific issues within the National Park. They help build initial views and opinions and contribute to the development of a preferred option to address the issues raised. As the plan preparation process progresses the Issues Papers will be updated to inform the LDP and will ultimately be used as evidence at the Independent Examination in Public.
Strategic Environmental Assessment/Sustainability Appraisal
A joint Sustainability Appraisal (SA and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) has been undertaken on the BBNP LDP Preferred Strategy to assess the potential effects of the plan.
Habitats Regulation Assessment
A Habitats Regulation Assessment has been undertaken in line with the requirements set up by the Conservation (Natural Habitats &c) (Amendment) Regulations 2007. It addresses the likely significant effect(s) on designated European Site(s) of implementing the policies and proposals as outlined in the LDP Preferred Strategy.
