Jeremy Atkinson
Highway, rights of way and river surveyor. Member of the International Mountain Bike Association, Cyclists’ Touring Club, Anglers’ Conservation Association, Byways and Bridleways Trust and Hereford Nature Trust. Main interest mountain biking.
Pamela Bell
Member, of the Welsh Canoeing Association, elected to the Board of Directors in 1995 and has chaired the Welsh National Access Committee for 13 years. Also a member of the YHA, Coracle Society, River & Lake Swimming Association and Outdoor Swimming Society. Lifelong interest in the outdoors, spending most weekends and holidays hostelling, camping, canoeing and climbing. Since 1988 has run an outdoor activity business working within and beyond the BBNP. Committed to the campaign for land reform legislation in Wales, similar to that passed in Scotland in 2003.
Neil Bennett
Member of the British Horse Society. Interests include equestrian rights of way, rider safety, sustainable equestrian tourism and rights of way maintenance and responsibilities.
John Cook
Director of the department of BBNPA responsible for Countryside and Land Management and, in particular, access and rights of way and warden area teams. In addition, the department is responsible for sustainable tourism, visitor services (including education), information and interpretation.
Graham Davies
A native of the area with knowledge and experience of the natural history of the vicinity. Member of the Ystradgynlais Town Council, Chairperson of Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmtwrch and Chairperson of Ystradgynlais & District Access Group. Also a member of the Ramblers and Brecknock LAF. Has served as a Brecknockshire Borough Councillor for many years. Has been instrumental in Definitive Map Modifications Orders (DMMO), creation orders, public inquiries and many other rights of way issues. Has been involved in the Ffordd y Glowyr Project and is still involved in the Dyffryn Henllys Project promoting local heritage and access to all.
John Evans
Chairman of Trustees and representative on the National Access Forum for the Elan Valley Trust. Member of CPRW Monmouthshire Executive Committee. Membership includes Gwent Wildlife Trust, Llanthony Valley and District Show Society (Vice President), Brecon Beacons Park Society and Field Studies Council. Main interests are walking, wildlife and local history.
Gwyn Gwillim
Member of Black Mountains Graziers Association, NFU, Talgarth History Society and Talgarth Festival Committee. Ex club leader of the Talgarth Young Farmers Club and past Chairman of the Black Mountain Graziers, a post held for 20 years. Has experience of access issues e.g. illegal camping and off-road motor cyclists. Interested in protecting the environment for future generations.
Helen Lloyd Jones
Member of the Welsh Executive Council of the Ramblers Association. Past council member of the Countryside Council for Wales and previously a community councillor in a semi-rural area. Active Rambler. Interests include rights of way and countryside matters. Also tourism, especially green tourism.
David Mantle
Member of Llangynidr Community Council and Chairman of their Rights of Way Committee. Committee member of Duke of Beaufort's Commoners and Walls of Llangynidr and Committee member and trustee for Llangynidr Burial Ground Trust. Chairman of Talybont on Usk Sheep Society and vice chairman of Llangynidr Agricultural Show Society. Interests include rights of way on private and common land, access issues within the local community and youth involvement with projects to create awareness of what is around us within the National Park. Is keen to see a sustainable future for people living and working in the National Park.
Steve Rayner OBE
Member of Welsh Canoeing Association, British Mountaineering Council, Chair & Development/Coaching Officer for Brecon Canoe Club and Assistant Area Commissioner (Activities) for Brecknock Area Scout Council. Regularly canoes, kayaks and walks in the National Park for both own recreation, as a community group leader and as a part-time professional outdoors pursuits instructor. Landowner and commoner in the central area of the National Park.
Mike Scott Archer
Committee member of the Council for British Archaeology (Wales) and Council member of Brecknock Society & Museum Friends. Member of Llangynidr Local History Soc., Brecon Beacons Park Society, CPRW and RSPB. Leads walks for the BB Park Society. Interests include archaeology of the uplands, field archaeology in Llangynidr and history of roads and track ways. Concerned by issues such as funding the ROWIP, climate change, litter and keen to see the liaison and close monitoring of the WAG Water Related Sport and Recreation Strategy meetings.
Martin Skinner
Has lived in the area for 20 years. Head of local authority outdoor education centre nr Crickhowell which provides adventure education and environmental studies courses for schools in the London Borough of Haringey. Active outdoor and environmental enthusiast. Member of the Assoc. of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres, Outdoor Education Advisors Panel, British Mountaineering Council and BMC representative at Gwent Mountaineering Club. Vice-chair of MLT Wales and board member of MLT UK.
Richard Stow
Retired Marketing Director. Chairman of Crucorney Community Council, responsible for the promotion of economic and social well-being of a community inside the Park. Active supporter of Sustrans as a volunteer Ranger for a 12 mile section of their National Route 42, which runs along the Llanthony valley up to Gospel Pass. Keen walker and cyclist.
Colin Woodley
Full-time farmer on the Brecon Beacons and Community Councillor, secretary for Penderyn Commoners Association and Council Member for Farmers Union of Wales. Chairman of Cambrian Caving Council, Conservation Officer for South Wales Caving Club and Council Member of British Caving Association. Interests include cave exploration and access, and industrial archaeology. Main interest is cave exploration and deeply involved with cave and mine access issues. Has a great interest in industrial heritage.
