National Parks launch celebratory book at Royal Welsh

The beauty and importance of National Parks in Wales is celebrated in a new book to be launched by Jane Davidson AM, Minister of Environment, Sustainability and Housing at the Royal Welsh Show on Monday 21st July.

“National Parks Wales: A Celebration” is a corporate document written and produced by Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and Pembrokeshire National Park Authorities drawing attention to the wide range of work undertaken within the National Parks in Wales.  The book also focuses upon key policy priorities of the Welsh Assembly Government including social inclusion, climate change as well as the more traditional functions of National Parks like land management and planning.

The book launch will be part of a special four day exhibition ‘Your Countryside on a Plate’ at the National Parks stand during the Royal Welsh Show which runs from 21s – 24th July.

Mrs Mary Taylor Chairman for the Welsh Association of National Park Authorities and Brecon Beacons National Park Authority said:

''We are delighted to be able to launch this book as a celebration of the wide range of vital work undertaken by National Park Authorities in Wales. Our Welsh National Parks have gained a tremendous international reputation and attract visitors from all over the world.  We hope that anyone with an interest in our work will take the opportunity to visit the National Park stand at the Royal Welsh Show next week to help us celebrate the contribution we have made and continue to protect our Welsh National Parks for our future generations.”
