YHA Danywenallt National Park Study Centre

Information on how to book your visit at the Danywenallt National Park Study Centre.

Step 1: Contact Us

We will be happy to discuss your requirements and Centre availability and will make a provisional booking for you. Please phone us on 01874 676677 or email breconbeacons@yha.org.uk. We will then send you a booking form to complete. This will include a kit list, activities selection form and further information.

 

Step 2: Choose Activities

When you've received your booking form, browse the selection of courses available in the What are the opportunities for schools section and make your selection. Please note the Centre staff organise activities for 2 evenings for a 4 night stay and for 1 evening of a 2 or 3 -night stay. You are welcome to ring to discuss the courses if you would like some more information. The education staff will then fit these activities into a programme for you. Please note some of the activities involve a minibus journey that will incur an extra cost.

 

Step 3: Return Forms

Once these forms are returned with a deposit your booking is confirmed.

Please note:

·       You must ensure a minimum ratio of 1 adult to 10 pupils for the duration of your visit. These adults are entitled to free places. This does not include Centre staff.

·       Your staff and adult helpers are responsible for the discipline of the group and pastoral care at all times during your stay.

  • One member of your party must carry a recognized and valid First Aid certificate.
  • It is your responsibility to provide us with information (as full as possible) on any physical, medical, dietary requirements, learning or behavioral difficulties that we will need to consider when planning activities. It is also your responsibility to dispense medication to your group during their stay.

 

Step 4: Arrange Transport

  • Transportation to and from the Centre is not included. Transport during the visit is also extra
  • If you have more than 29 children and 3 adults (capacity of our minibuses) you will need to arrange additional transport if the activities you choose involve travelling.
  • If you wish to drive a Centre minibus (please discuss with us) the driver must bring proof of a full clean driving license and have passed a MIDAS test.
  • Complete a passenger list below for each vehicle and return it as soon as possible.

 

Step 5: Health and Safety

We have vast experience in dealing with individuals with special dietary needs and medical conditions.  Please let us know as soon as possible of anyone in your group who has any such requirements.
