Outdoor activity equipment, instruction and guides in the Brecon Beacons National Park
If you haven't brought all the gear you need with you or you'd like to book a course or an organised or guided activity, our shops, information centres and activity centres can sort you out.
Buying and hiring gear
The National Park's many outdoor shops, information centres and activity centres sell and hire equipment and outdoor gear. Brecon, Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell and Abergavenny are good places to look. For more details, visit our pages on visitor information and shopping for outdoor gear.
Hiring canoes, rowing boats, dinghies and canal boats
To hire a canoe or boat on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or on the rivers, get in touch with our activity providers or browse the Canal and River Trust website (www.canalrivertrust.org.uk) for ideas. For a bit of fun with the children, try the Boathouse at Brecon Promenade. Canoes, sailing dinghies, rowing boats and pedaloes can all be hired from Lakeside Boat Hire (www.llangorselake.co.uk) at Llangorse Lake. To find out more, visit our pages on canoeing and sailing.
Instruction and guides
If you're not confident of taking yourself on watery adventures, look for an expert with an appropriate qualification or accreditation from an official organisation such as the AALS (Adventure Activities Licensing Service), RYA (Royal Yachting Association) or Canoe Wales.
