Glastir in the Brecon Beacons National Park

Glastir is the new agri-environment scheme from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The Welsh Assembly requested evidence to detemine the best areas to target for achieving maximum benefits from the scheme. As a response the Park Authority have produced "The Beacon Beacons National Park: A good place for Glastir Sustainable Land Management Scheme".

The document details the reasons and need to bring Glastir to the National Park and how it will benefit the rural economy and environment. A number of current projects undertaken within the Park are described and are examples of the sort of work Glastir could help deliver. Glastir will be a new opportunity to improve large areas of the uplands as well as productive farmland in sensitive areas.
