Everybody who lives, works or visits the National Park has an effect on its biodiversity, but it is possible to make this a positive effect. It is not the responsibility of any one organisation or group to conserve the wildlife around us, but it is up to all of us to ensure that there are opportunities for other living things to share the environment around us.
The Local Biodiversity Action Plan sets out which habitats and species are of particular importance for conservation in the National Park. The LBAPs are the UK governments' commitment to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity 1992.
