Big Pit, National Coal Museum

This Gulbenkian prize winning colliery museum is situated within the Blaenavon World Heritage Site.

The exhibition is based on three levels, all of which have long and steep access ramps, and the opportunity of an underground tour. Underground tours are open to wheelchair users but please contact the Museum before your visit.

How to get there: Big Pit is signposted from Blaenavon.

Facilities: Free admission and open most of the year. Coffee shop, canteen, gift shop, baby changing facilities and underground tours are all available on site.

Parking: There is ample, free car parking available next to the Museum.

Toilets: There are suitably equipped toilets on all levels, but none underground.
