The route is within the Blaenavon World Heritage Site and also overlooks the Usk Valley. The majority of the route is level and well surfaced. There is a steep drop on one side of the path, which is unfenced, until you reach the quarry. There is a 20 metre long, 1:6 slope and a rocky step down to a stream crossing. How to get there: Garnddyrys Forge is alongside the B4246 between Govilon and Blaenavon. The quarry is signposted from the road and is 1 km north of Keepers Pond (see no: 38).
