Walking provides 50% of the tourism income inthe Brecon Beacons. This strategy outlines how to make it even more important in a sustainable way.
In 2002, the Wales Tourist Board published Best Foot Forward, their strategy for walking tourism in Wales.
For the purposes of this strategy we adopted the definition used in the Wales Walking Tourism Strategy, which defines Walking Tourism as:
“Holiday and day visits where recreational walking is a significant part of the visit”
