James Suter

Nominated by: National Assembly for Wales - Until 31 March 2009

James Suter has a military background, having spent 8 years in the army, two years of which were spent at Dering Lines, experiencing the pressures of military training within the Park.

He runs a family hotel (Gliffaes Hotel near Crickhowell) and has a major role in making it a successful tourism facility. He has an interest in the Brecon Beacons as a destination for tourists of all types, which also applies to the impact on his business. He has a strong background in tourism, is a keen walker and cyclist and is a frequent recreational user of the Park. He is also a volunteer with the Brecon Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. Mr Suter has been a supporter of the Wye and Vale Foundation and the work that they undertake on the tributaries and main river.

Mr Suter is currently in the process of learning how to keep bees.
