Gareth has the distinction of being the youngest ever member of the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. Having been brought up in a political family he has sat on Hay Town Council for 8 years, the last three as Mayor, starting at the age of 25. He was elected to Powys County Council in May 2008 and then to the National Park Authority. He runs a fish bar business in Hay on Wye.
