Planning Enforcement Practice

These pages set out the framework for the function of the Planning services Enforcement Service at the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, and the approach that will be taken in dealing with breaches of planning control under the provisions of the Town & Country Planning Acts.

These Acts give discretion to the local planning authority in the exercise of its powers for the control of unauthorised developments.

The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority is dedicated to effective enforcement of planning control and when considering what action to take, regard will be made to each instance to the principal circumstances and the particular impact of the development in question.

The Authority views breaches of planning control very seriously and has a dedicated enforcement team in the Planning services Department to investigate and when appropriate to take action against unauthorised development.
