About this site
This is the official web site of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It was created by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority (the Authority) as a resource for visitors to and residents of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
It is maintained by a team of up to 30 content managers and two technical administrators. Development work is carried out externally on behalf of the Authority.
This site uses a content management system called Plone which is made available under the GNU Public License. Plone was adapted with new features for this project by Eryr Ltd of Aberystwyth, Wales. Of primary interest to other prospective Plone users will be the image cropping tools and page templates. These will be returned to the open source community. Credit is also due to Oxfam, the international aid charity for their work improving Plone.
This site aims to adhere to the highest level of accessibility and should comply with the AAA standard defined by the W3C's web accessibility initiative.
The content of this site is the responsibility of the Authority's PR and Communications team. The technical aspects of this site are the responsibility of the Authority's IT Team. The site is hosted by the Authority.
