In 2005 Fforest Fawr Geopark became a member of the Global Network of National Geoparks administered by UNESCO. The Network encourages the exchange of knowledge, expertise, experience and staff between Geoparks.
Since the launch of the Network in 2004, nearly 60 selected high quality National Geoparks from 17 countries have become members (Austria, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Iran, Malaysia, Norway, Portugal, Rumania, Spain, United Kingdom).
