Public Transport in the Brecon Beacons

There are several ways of getting into, around and even out of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Bus Services

There are several reasonable bus links in the Brecon Beacons area with the town of Brecon acting as the main hub. The Traveline Cymru website is the best one for journey planning. During the main tourism season the Beacons Bus also operates on set routes. For more information please use the links.

Beacons Bus

The Beacons Bus is not just for visitors to the National Park. Residents can have a car-free day in the hills with the Beacons Bus.  Beacons Bus runs on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 27 May to 23 September 2007. This is another two days of operation and we hope you enjoy the extension.

Train

The only train services in the area are located along the western, eastern and southern boundaries of the national park.

The key stations in the east of the national park are Abergavenny and Pontypool

The key stations in the west of the national park are Llandeilo and Llandovery, with request stops at Ffairfach and Llangadog.

The key stations to the south of the national park are Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney.
