Insulation and Energy Efficiency

Around half of heat loss in a typical home is through the walls and loft. Therefore it's worth checking whether yours is suitably insulated.

How energy efficient is your home? The Energy Savings Trust (EST)website has an 'Interactive Home' to show you where you could take simple steps to save energy and money: EST’s interactive home.

Alternatively, you can take the Energy Saving Trusts Home Energy Check. This online form requires you to enter details about your particular house and will offer suggestions as to how you can improve the efficiency of your house: EST Home Energy Check.

You may also be eligible for a grant to help with the cost of home insulation- the EST have a handy grant finder to assist you: EST Grantfinder webpage.

You can find out more about the different types of insulation by following the links below to the EST’s website.
