Pontganol Cottage is a boutique, 4 star, self-catering, dog-friendly holiday cottage in Llangynidr within the Brecon Beacons National Park, near the market towns of Crickhowell, Abergavenny and Monmouth.
Lovingly renovated to a high standard in 2014, the cottage sits in the stunning scenery of the Llangynidr area. There are walks all around, from gentle strolls along the canal to the village’s pubs, nature-spotting excursions beyond the canal to the river (where wild swimming is permitted on several stretches), to hiking up the mountains and taking in the jaw-dropping views of Llangorse lake and the Brecon Beacons National Park. And if walking seems like too much hard work, then just relax at the cottage instead, designed to make you feel like you’re in a cosy home from home, with everything you need for a relaxing, restful and restorative break.
Upstairs, the cottage sleeps 3(+1) and has a master bedroom with king size bed, a smaller bedroom with a small double and a single day bed on the spacious landing. Everything is decorated in contemporary, neutral colours. The beautiful bathroom has a roll-top bath with views of the stars through a Velux window above. Downstairs, there's a new wooden kitchen with oak worktops and all the applicances you'd expect, plus a dishwasher and espresso machine, so whether you're making dinner for a crowd or having a cosy meal for two, you should have everything you need. There's also a cosy living room with woodburner, flatscreen TV with Freeview and Amazon Fire TV, and a separate snug with another TV and a Wii, which is great for entertaining younger guests.
The cottage sits in the Brecon Beacons International Dark Sky Reserve, so the stars are simply stunning.
There is free wifi throughout the cottage. Well behaved dogs (up to a maximum number of two in any party) are welcome, but are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture.
