Magnificent in its grounds, and on the banks of the River Usk, Penpont lies in the middle of a 2000 acre working rural estate. The house, a centre piece of a remarkable group of historic buildings. Around it lie extensive grounds, sweeping lawns, walled gardens, riverside and woodland walks, and the green man maze.
Time has stood still at Penpont for much of the last century, this contributes greatly to the unspoilt charm and tranquility which characterise the house and grounds. Over the past two decades a challenging yet sympathetic restoration programme has been undertaken, maintaining the sense of history and place with an objective to develop a sustainable and viable future.
The self catering courtyard wing is located to the rear of the main house. it has its own entrance through a private courtyard and can sleep up to 17 people within 6 bedrooms. It is reached via a flight of steep steps to the first floor. There's a comfortable sitting room with a wood burning stove, a spacious kitchen, 4 bathrooms. There is full central heating throughout, a games room, and bike storage.
We have a secluded campsite within the old Rose Garden, and along the river. We limit numbers to a max of 35 people, or 10 pitches. Hot showers and WC's are located in the Stables.
